Coworker Spotlight: Jason Weber's Journey at VMAC
At VMAC, success isn’t just about producing the most innovative mobile air compressors and products — it's about the people who drive the company forward. One such person is Jason Weber, who has been with VMAC since 1993. His journey showcases the values, innovation, and dedication that have made VMAC the leader in the compressed air industry.
A Legacy of Dedication
Weber’s journey with VMAC began in 1993 when the company was still a small, tight-knit group. Reflecting on those early days, Weber recalls being just the third full-time coworker on the team. "It was a great environment," he says. "I was motivated to come in every day, learn more about my trade, and be part of a team that felt like family."
Weber was referred to as “General Do-Everything” in the early days, as VMAC President Tony Menard, recognized Weber’s potential and work ethic. Shortly after Weber was hired, he began to pursue a machinist apprenticeship program through VMAC – the first of its kind for the company.
Over the years, that sense of camaraderie and the opportunity for growth have remained key motivators for Weber. Today, he’s driven by VMAC's commitment to continuous improvement. "I really believe in the continuous improvement work that we do here," he explains.
Embracing Innovation
Among Weber's many achievements, one innovation stands out as his proudest accomplishment: rotor manufacturing. "That was something new for us," Weber recalls. "We started from scratch with very few tools and resources." Through dedication and innovation, VMAC has grown this capability significantly.
Now, with innovative equipment and technology, VMAC’s vision to become the leader in compressed air innovation is now a reality. The vision was born from the notion that a great company is not built by the products it develops, but by the systems and the people put into place to develop them.
Today, VMAC designs and manufactures the most innovative mobile air compressors and multi-power systems available. As one of the only true air compressor manufacturers in North America, VMAC has earned a reputation for air compressors and multi-power systems with extraordinary build quality, durability, and reliability.
"It's exciting to see how far we've come," Weber says proudly. "From the early days of minimal equipment to now being on the verge of groundbreaking technology — it’s been an incredible journey."
Culture and Core Values
Weber credits VMAC's long-standing success to its people and the values instilled by its founders Tony Menard and Jim Hogan. "The amazing people here have embraced those core values," Weber explains. "It’s built a strong culture that continues to drive our success."
One of the key differentiators between VMAC and many manufacturers of today, centers on coworker satisfaction. No company prospers without good people, and VMAC’s commitment to its coworkers, innovation, and continuous improvement ensures the company remains at the forefront of the compressed air industry. Weber’s dedication and passion are perfect examples of how VMAC’s people bring those values to life every day.
Looking Forward
For Weber, the future is about sustaining that momentum. "Continuous improvement is what keeps VMAC competitive," he emphasizes. "It's what keeps jobs here for all of us — and for future generations."
At VMAC, success isn’t just measured in products — it’s built on the dedication of coworkers like Weber who take pride in their work, embrace innovation, and embody the values that define the company’s culture. Coworkers are the catalyst for VMAC’s success, Weber a demonstrable example.
